“KURANGU PEDAL” is an Indian Tamil language Children Film, which is an OFFICIAL SELECTION of INDIAN PANORAMA 2022. Directed by acclaimed Director KAMALAKANNAN.
KURANGU PEDAL movie is presented by Tamil Film Industry's one of the Leading Actor and Producer SIVAKARTHIKEYAN's SIVAKARTHIKEYAN PRODUCTIONS.
KURANGU PEDAL is a nostalgia story set during the summer of 1980s on the banks of river Cauvery of Salem and Erode districts of Tamil Nadu. The story unravels the relationship between the Son (Maariappan) who is keen on learning cycling and the Father who doesn’t know cycling.
The film is based on the short story “Cycle” written by Rasi Azhagappan. Prabhakar Shanmugam, the Co-Director of the movie has written the Dialogues and co-written the Screenplay along with the Director Kamalakannan.

SANTHOSH VELMURUGAN, VR.RAGAVAN, M. GNANASEKAR, RATHISH and SAI GANESH all five children play a major role in the film.
NANDAKUMAR, having experience working with children for over 15 years identified the children and trained them for 45 days.
Along with the children actor KAALI VENKAT of Soorarai Potru, Gargi, Mundasupatti films play a key role as father. With them PRASANNA BALACHANDER and JENSON DIWAKAR of Nakkalites fame also had been casted.
